Lush Lips

Hi everyone. I'm here in the beautiful valley of Bhurban surrounded by snow! I think winter is a magical time to visit this place.
 I brought three of my favorite lush lip products with me, and thought I'll review these for all you lush heads out there.

I know you're probably tired of  me raving about this brand in every lush post, but I loove lush. I really do. Have loved it since I was introduced to it a million years ago when my mom's friend brought some of their hand made soaps for me. It was love at first sniff. They weren't even that well known back then and were only located in the UK . I have been a loyal customer for years and years now, and for a very good reason. Their products really deliver what they say.
LUSH: When were were inventing our lip balms, we wanted to make sure they all tasted fabulous (they are meant for lips after all), so Simon Constantine and Helen Ambrosen volunteered to taste them all just to be sure (but not on each other).
 There are more to LUSH Lip Balms than flavor; some are for shine, some are for softness and some will restore sore lips to their natural state of beauty. Choose one or choose a few. Most handbags have space for a selection.

Although easy to carry around, I'm really not a fan of tin packaging where you have to dip your finger in each time to grab product. Don't get deceived by it's size, this little tin really does go a long way.

HONEY TRAP LIP BALM $6.95

This has got to be my favorite. I cannot recommend this enough, especially for anyone living in a cold dry climate. It is their most sold lip product and gosh it is addictive! I cannot stop reapplying it every opportunity I get. Very smooth and not at all waxy. It has oat milk, almond oil, beesewax, olive oil, honey, peppermint and white chocolate. Smells absoulutely yummy. White chocolate with a drzzling of honey and peppermint candycane. The scent is quite similar to their MANGE TOO massage bar.
Goes on clear.

WHIPSTICK LIP BALM $6.95

This is a must for anyone who'se a fan of milk chocolate oranges. I'm emphisizing on the scents of these lip product because the scents are very strong in all of 'em. So if you dislike scented lip products, or are annoyed with any of the notes mentioned, then please steer clear of these as most of them are heavily scented and you will end up smelling it the whole time you have it on your lips. This is supposed to be great for people allergic to lanolin or coca butter as it contains none. Consists of wheatgerm and almond oils mixed in with chocolate vanilla absolute and orange oil. The only downside is that the texture is not as smooth as that of honey trap, and is a bit gritty because of all the natural ingredients accumulating together. It's exactly like putting on terry's chocolate orange on your lips.
Goes on clear.

IT STARTED WITH A KISS LIP TINT 8.95

This is not a lip balm, but a lip tint (kind of like a matte sheer lipstick) Again, a very gritty texture which melts away when applied. This lip tint contains fresh red apple infusion among other natural ingredients, and is said to be inspired by snow white :) This has a very strong delicious scent of white chocolate and cinnamon mixed in with apples. Having it on my lips almost makes me feel guilty of indulging in some rich sinful dessert :)  Leaves a natural looking pinkish red stain on the lips which can be built up. Can also be used as a subtle blush on the apples of your cheeks. As it's not a balm, the moisturizing factor is low, but wearing it over a lip balm solves that problem.

Lush Christmas Favorites

I don't know what it is about Lush products that turns us all into kids again. Maybe the colorful confections stored in mounds at the store reminds us of candy stores we used to frequent as kids.

Like a kid, I get really excited each year when they launch new and old Christmas products. The normal range at lush is good too but there is something extra special about their Christmas edition products. Love the sweet,spicy, boozy scented stuff that comes out only once a year and makes the wintertime a little more special.

LUSH BUCHE DE NOEL FACIAL CLEANSER:  £5.95
My first review is for their scrumptious cleanser that comes out every Christmas called Buche de Noel. I love that name.

Buche de Noel is french for yule log.One of many traditional cakes baked at Christmas and this cleanser was inspired by that yule log shaped cake.

Cranberries,almonds and satsumas. Tastes good too :) :)

LUSH:Feed your face this Christmas with this lovely gentle winter face cleanser.Buche De Noel is made by taking fresh satsumas and blending them with dried cranberries, vegetable glycerine, brandy, almond essential oil, vetiver oil and cedarwood oil. When that’s all whizzed up, we mix it with grated cocoa butter, ground almonds and kaolin until it becomes a thick paste. We then shape and roll it and finally cover it in a sheet of nori seaweed and pop on a little Christmas decoration.
I looove this cleanser and cannot rave about this enough. It has made such a difference to my skin. I have combination/oily skin prone to frequent breakouts, and I thought this cleanser will be too greasy for me. I'm glad I was wrong. Turns out, this is just what my skin needed, as using too many products for oily skin stripped my skin of all it's natural oils making it itchy and hence producing more oil and breakouts.I'm so happy I broke that cycle with this cleanser. I love how it smells too, like a boozy almondy fruit cake. I don't mind it being a limited edition winter product cuz I think it will be too heavy to use in the hot humid summers we have here. Using Buche de Noel in winters and Angels on bare skin in summers would be perfect, as both are quite similar in texture, buche being a bit less exfoliating. Using it can be a bit messy but you get used to it soon enough.

It says to take a pea sized amount, mix it with water, and massage all over face for perfectly soft winter skin.  And I find that is exactly the amount you need. Take more and you will be wasting product.

LUSH MAGIC WAND BUBBLE BAR: £4.95

I call it the snowfairy's magic wand

There is nothing like pampering yourself by making bath time fun, luxurious, and sweetly scented with Lush bath products!
I haven't used this as yet but it smells exactly like the snow fairy shower gel. Smells very sweet and girly. You are supposed to wave your wand under running water several times, like casting a spell :) while the cute little bell on it jingles, and watch it make heaps of bubbles in your tub. It's good for several uses, so stand whats left of your wand up to dry.

LUSH ONCE A YEAR MASSAGE BAR:£3.95 

How cute is this Massage bar with that glittery Santa's mustache! Sadly it didn't come out this year, fingers crossed for next Christmas.
This is the most Christmassy massage bar I have ever smelt. It's supposed to have brandy,hazelnut and almond oils.The scent of it is very unique, not overly sweet but a lovely mixture of brandy/hazlenut oil and maybe nutmeg.What makes it even more festive is the gold glitter on the cute 'tache. The rest of the bar is glitterless.I like to rub the bar on my skin and massage it in like a lotion, then turn it over and lightly stroke the glittery mustache onto any areas where I want a bit of sparkle.Even though I don't drink, I find this massage bar a welcome boozy treat on cold winter nights.Plz bring it back next year!

LUSH SNOWGLOBE SOAP:£2.95/100g

Is this not one of the most beautiful soaps ever?! Snowglobe is the perfect name for it. It does remind you of shaking a snowglobe and watching all that glitter and fake snow falling inside the glass globe.

LUSH: Imagine yourself inside a snow globe – snow fluttering all around and a feeling of being refreshed, revitalized and uplifted. Well, this soap will make you feel all of the above, with a citrusy lemon myrtle, grapefruit and lemongrass blend that will bluster your senses and wake you up on cold winter mornings. The whole soap is in the shape of a snow globe, with white circles to imitate the snowflakes. A beautiful alternative to all the traditional festive offerings.
I'm not a fan of citrus scents in the winters, but this soap has a kind of wintery freshness to it. It's a yummy blend if grapefruit and and lemongrass. Yum! It is my new favorite and I thought I would never like a Christmas edition soap as much as father frost.

Remember Father frost soap???

LUSH ANGELS DELIGHT SOAP:£2.50/100g

This is another soap that took me by surprise, It's very tropical and fruity, not at all winter appropriate. It reminds me of juicy luscious mangoes and warm summer days. Leaves skin soft and lightly scented.

Divide your soaps into pieces and store into a drawer. Lush soaps cut very easily, and this way you don't spoil and melt away the entire bar in one shower.

LUSH CANDYCANE SOAP:£3.45 for 100g

I had high hopes for this one but was somewhat disappointed. Only because I was expecting it to smell like a real candycane,but it is more of an almond fragrance with cherries and a hint of peppermint.

 Guess I should have listened when lush said "Lather up with this peppermint and almondy cherry fragrance-just don't eat it!"


LUSH MELTING SNOWMAN BATH MELT:£1.95 Each

These look like little mounds of meringue with chocolate chips

Aww! look at that adorable little snow man during mid-melt. This reminds me of the snowcake soap. It has that same yummy marzipan scent. Melting snowman is a fizzy bath melt packed full of cocoa and shea butter to soften the skin.

And last but not the least the lovely Pudding Knot-Wrap £2.50. 
It's a great way to wrap presents without wasting any paper.

Bear with me please, you know how happy and corny I get when it comes to Lush....

Todays question is....
How do you de stress?

How about lighting up some candles and running a hot scented bath with your favorite bath products to melt all your worries away?

Lush makes some of the best looking/smelling bath bombs around and I'm not just saying this cuz I have an unhealthy obsession with this brand *Blush*

Moving on... I have tried just a few of their bath products and have loved every single one of them.

Let's start off from the prettiest of the bunch shall we...

CHRISTMAS EVE Bubble Bar £2.95/100g

Christmas Eve Bubble Bar

Lush: When you're too excited to sleep on Christmas Eve, the best thing to do is crumble one of these deeply relaxing jasmine and ylang ylang scented Bubble Bars into your tub. Sink into the skin-softening water (thanks to the Irish moss powder) and lie back in clouds of twinkling foam. You'll emerge a sleepy-head who's ready to nod off to dreamland and have some very sweet dreams indeed. 


This is available only at Christmas time and is an absolute delight to use before bedtime.Gives off heaps of bubbles and turns the water a very relaxing shade of purple/blue.It has a beautiful powdery Jasmine scent to it and really helps you unwind and puts you in the mood to sleep. All you have to do is crumble half of it under hot running water, lie back and just see the bubbles foam up. It really is very soothing and relaxing, so make sure you don't nod off in the tub! It's good for at least two baths and leaves you with softly scented moisturized skin.Utter bliss.... 

CINDERS Bath Bomb £1.95/Each

 

Lush: Like a warming glass of mulled wine by a crackling log fire (it really crackles in the bath)!

Much like you cannot avert your eyes from the tantalizing flames in a fire, you will not be able to avert your nose from this Bath Bomb. The warming, sweet cinnamon and orange fragrance was inspired by a comforting yuletide drink in Sweden and is utterly irresistible on a chilly evening. Cinders is the color of a glowing ember and crackles like wood on the fire (just like the fire that Cinderella slept beside in the fairytale). The crackling and popping is a result of the vegan fizzing candy (pop rocks!) that we put into each bomb. Since you've no place to go, stay for a while and let the almond oil soften up your skin. Satisfies your sweet tooth with a cinnamon heart candy scent. Unwind in a warming Cinders bath on a snowy evening. 


A little smaller than a tennis ball,Cinders is a fun bath bomb to try and is supposed to imitate the feeling of  warmness you get while sitting infront of a crackling fire.It has a warming sweet cinnamon scent mixed in with oranges and spices and turns the water a light shade of orange. You can't help but laugh when the popping candies on top starts popping in the water, imitating the crackling of fire. The almond oil in it really left my skin soft and i didn't feel like using a moisturizer afterwards.Will definitely repurchase. I only wish the scent was a bit stronger in the water, and it was available all year round and not just for Christmas.

SO WHITE Bath Bomb £1.90/Each

 Lush: Simon worked hard to create the perfect apple fragrance – there is no such thing as real apple essential oil, you see. A blend of bergamot oil, neroli oil and orange flower absolute create a sweet, crisp scent. He added a hint of romantic and fragrant rose absolute to care for sensitive winter skin. So White is the fairest in all the lands, with grated Bubble Bar mixture to create a frothy, snowy white blanket on the water. And we bathed happily ever after. Slow-fizzing and frothing for those who want to indulge in a long, luxurious bath.It is inspired by the tempting apple a certain wicked stepmother tricked her beautiful stepdaughter into eating. Made with the uplifting scents of refreshing oranges, apples and romantic rose and it's meant to wake you if you've been under a spell (or just feeling tired). Kiss your skin with So White and you'll be bewitching and beguiling too.

So white, love it's name :) is a crisp apple scented bath bomb. I don't think Lush has ever done an apple fragrance before So white. It is very refreshing and melts in a long time so have a good book with you in the tub.Usually bath bombs don't leave any kind of froth but this one leaves the water foamy and scented.Is this a bath bomb and bubble bar all in one? Leaves the skin soft with a lingering clean apple scent. Stock up on this one if you love apple scents, as this too sadly makes an appearance once a year around Christmastime.

THE BOOG Bath Bomb

Lush: Herbal snowman packed with fireworks. An explosion of bubbles and fizz. The Boog was inspired by a Swiss tradition of building an effigy of a snowman. They filled it's head with fireworks, hoist it onto a bonfire and wait to see how long it takes for it's poor little head to go BOOM!The longer it takes for his head to explode, the better the following Summer will be. Although this seems like snowman-related barbarism, the LUSH version is quite different, though no less explosive with colorful surprises and a calming, herbal fragrance."

The Boog is another Christmas special that is shaped like the head of a smiling white snowman with pieces of bathmelts stuffed inside. I was quite excited by it's description but sadly didn't like it as much as the others. First of all it smells kind of funky.Herbal and bland and lacked a certain zing that should come with the mention of fireworks. I don't hate it or anything but the scent wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It does froth the water with multi colored stripes for a little while but doesn't change the color of the water.Somewhat disappointing, only because after Lush's description you expect a little more drama.On the plus side it did turn my skin silky soft and the scent stayed on for a long time. It is discontinued for now.

TISTY TOSTY Bath Bomb £2.99/110g

 Lush: A touch of magic. Tisty Tosty was inspired by the beautiful writings of a literary critic. It was based on a spell used to stir the passions and bring love to you, depending on the state of mind of the caster. With seven roses, if you start positively, it will end positively. Its fragrance has constantly evolved over the years and Simon has mastered the definitive Tisty fragrance. It weaves a magic love spell with a scent of precious rose and orris root. The fragrant rose is surrounded with mystery and legend: it is said to have come from the Great Garden of ancient Persia; and Cleopatra is rumored to have seduced Anthony with it. Rose perfume is said to ease tension and stress and to give people happy, positive feelings.

This is a wonderful bath bomb and very pretty to look at too with a light old fashioned rose and orris root scent to it .If relaxing in a bath with roses floating around you is your idea of romantic, you are going to love Tisty Tosty. The idea behind it is that each bath bomb contains 7 dried rosebuds in it, and when you drop it into the bath you are supposed to say 'He loves me/loves me not' with each rose bud you see lol. It makes the water very soft and is chock full of essential oils to condition the skin.

And now for the disappointment 

Yes yes! It's hard to believe, but there actually is something from lush that I dislike with a passion,

TOO DRUNK Emotibomb £2.99

Lush: For when you partied too hard.This is for the day after you got too drunk. It has essential oils of peppermint, tagetes, fennel and reviving sweet wild orange to refresh you, soothe a sore head and bring you back to life.Blended to ease the pangs of a hangover.Just stick one in the shower, turn on the water and stand there - or sit if you can't manage being vertical - getting drenched, until it all feels a bit better. Of course, you don't have to have a hangover to use one.

Emotibombs are a good concept in theory but practically they suck big time.They are supposed to be like bath bombs for the shower, And are made for customers who either dislike baths or don't have one. Emotibombs are  supposed to work with the steam of the shower and release all those important essential oils and make your shower a beautiful experience. Well curiosity got the best of me and I bought this funny looking guy.I don't drink, but was told this one also helps to clean the senses and dissipate the headache when you have a cold.I put it to the test and it did release a bit of minty menthol aroma at first, but then I saw it disappearing in the water in like under a minute. Whoa!Was this a joke lush? or did you create this after having one too many? It's not cheap either. Give this one a miss, and all is right with me and lush again ;) *Angels playing the harp*
