Twilight Woods joins the Signature Collection line as the latest expertly blended fragrance created by the world’s top perfumers. Among fragrance aficionados and Bath & Body Works shoppers alike, Signature Collection scents are considered a best-kept secret—carefully calibrated blends of superior ingredients for a fraction of the cost of prestige brands.
The Firmenich master perfumers behind Twilight Woods combined lush, dewy fruits with elegant, exotic woods to create an alluring, secretive scent. Perfumer Harry Fremont experimented with the scents of sustainable hardwoods, while Jane Konnyu added a layer of musk to build texture and body with a soft, feminine feel. When Honorine Blanc smelled the silk-woody combination, she craved the effect of a delicious, addictive top note, explaining, “When I added a juicy cocktail of sparkling fruits and creamy white flowers, I found I just couldn’t stop smelling it.” Twilight Woods captures the dreams and efforts of these three Firmenich masters, combining Harry’s bold use of new ingredients, Jane’s focus on femininity and softness, and Honorine’s playful modernity.
I was quite taken aback by the list of very tropical sounding notes. Coconut, Frangipani, Mimosa and honeysuckle brings to mind a summery, tropical kind of scent. Not at all a dark, Winter perfume that the name, packaging and marketing implies. I think it is the addition of warm woods that has done the magic. Warm woods are mostly used to warm up a fragrance and lend a sensual woodsy quality to the finished composition. These include Sandal wood, Cashmere woods, Rosewoods etc.

This scent is pure magic! Right out of a fairytale.Something a princess or Rapunzel would wear. Locked up in the tower, surrounded by enchanted woods, at wee hours of twilight, waiting for the night to come so she can be together with her prince again.

Lastly, I find I like the Body mist better than the perfume. While the perfume is a bit too syrupy sweet and fruity in the opening for my tastes, the body mist has a perfectly rounded soft, creamy scent to it. The perfect fall/winter fragrance!
Even though Bath and Body Works is starting to lean towards more sophisticated, more expensive, more signature/complexed abstract scents, I must admit I do miss the old Image. When country Apple was their most popular scent. The company image was more wholesome and made you think of handmade farm products with gingham and wicker baskets full of nature's bounties.
Speaking of fall Bounties I gathered some of my own!
I purchased my 2.5 fl oz/75 mL bottle from Shams Islamabad last year. I won't quote the price as it changes every few weeks. You can check out this line at Bath and Body Works website HERE
