A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words. Featured Artist: Carl Larsson

Carl Larsson's favorite subject for his paintings were his own children and home.

" The pictures of  family and home
 became the most immediate and lasting part of my life's work.
For these pictures are of course a very genuine expression of my personality,
of my deepest feelings, of all my limitless love for my wife and children." Carl Larsson (1853-1919)

@Aiman Enchanting is the perfect word for his paintings.
@CottonCandyINK Its hard to believe all this beauty coming from a man surrounded by poverty and is said to have had a miserable childhood.

@Fragranica I wish that too :)

@Komz Thank you :)His love for his home and family is evident in his work.

@The beautifier you described them beautifully. Classic and timeless.

@Mouthwash Yes you are right. Even my untrained eye could see strong influence of Art Nouveau in two of his paintings. "My loved ones" and "Eighteen years old". Thanks for stopping by :)

i am awed by the beauty of these pictures. I totally can relate to thier interior design in modern world of today.

There are a little too many which i can say are my favt. It must have taken you ages to upload all these? How come you came across them? any story to that?

Pandora`s Box said...

@Aiman yes it actually took me seven to 8 hours to google everything up and choose the right images without watermarks and clear picutre quality. Also, most of the titles of his paintings are in Swedish so translated them into English as well.But I enjoyed every minute of this post as I'm a huge fan of Carl's illustrations for the longest time. Thanks for dropping by.
